Oregon Coast Visit

Yesterday, we went to the Oregon Coast at Newport with the missionaries serving in Our ward, Sister Shumway and Sister Hinton. It was one of the most beautiful days we have ever spent at the coast with gorgeous blue skies and warm weather. There was a strong breeze, but it was so beautiful!
We had lunch at Mo's on the Newport bayfront where we watched a tourist fishing boat come in and the passengers had their fish cleaned by a woman on a platform below our window table. We saw the sea lions out on the bay now and then along with sea gulls. then we went up by the Yaquina Bay lighthouse where we got out of the car to take some photos of the lighthouse and the ocean and bridge. From there we drove up the coast to the Yaquina head lighthouse. We were able to climb the stairs to the top and see the light and quickly look over the area to see the coastline and the ocean.
We then went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium where we had a short tour of both the outside and inside exhibits. The sister really enjoyed seeing the various fish, birds and mammals there. They enjoyed the entire day as they had never seen or toured a lighthouse.
We enjoy visiting the coast, but are glad to live in the Willamette Valley.
