Today we went over to Lincoln City to shop for some shoes for me and to visit the coast. We had checked Sunday to see which day this week looked like the best day to go over there and determined that Tuesday was forecast to have the best weather with temperature up to 60.
What a beautiful day! It was sunny and very little breeze and it warmed up to 70! We ate a lunch of Clam Chowder an Slumgullion Stew (David's choice of chowder with a pile of shrimp on top) at the Mo's on Siletz Bay in the south part of Lincoln City and then walked the beach there where we saw sea lions on the beach opposite us and lots of sea gulls. We both had worn warm tops and became a little too warm while walking (when have we ever been too warm at the Oregon Coast?).
After walking the beach we drove down to Cape Foulweather where we walked out to the lookout point and took some photos of the coast. We have never been to that location without there being a strong wind, but there was hardly a breeze! From there we drove into Newport where we sat on a bench and then walked along Nye Beach. We took some photos of Yaquina Head lighthouse from there. We decided this was the nicest day we've ever spent at the Oregon Coast! We're even planning to drive back tomorrow.

I'm jealous. It doesn't help that Dan is down in Carlsbad, CA and runs on the beach every morning before he goes to his training class. At least it got up into the forty's today.
You must have made it back to the coast today because we missed you at exercise class! After a very foggy morning, we finally got some sunshine here. Isn't that amazing how it can be awful her and nice over there.
